Committee Information & Leadership

Board President, Mary Jenson

The President of the Board of Directors acts as the Chief Executive Officer. She works in conjunction with General Manager to assure that the business is operated within the by-laws of the St. Augustine Shores Service Corporation. The President and General Manager work in concert and to follow direction from the Board of Directors decisions and request in a timely manner. The President is an ex-officio member of all committees.

Board Vice-President, Kathy Schroeder

The Vice President of the Board of Directors is vested with all the powers of the President and will serve as President when the President is absent or unable to perform duties as needed.  The Vice President can be assigned specific responsibilities.

 


The Architectural Control Committee

Chairperson, Mike Nutile 

The duty of this committee is to review and rule on applications for new homes, from exterior home renovations to original design and new or replacement fences. This committee does not enforce St. Johns County requirements, Southern Building Codes or other regulatory agency requirements, but does advise the property owner whenever permits may be required. The ACC may perform property inspections to assure committee requirements have been followed. The Committee further carries out the specifications contained in the St. Augustine Shores Deed Restrictions.

 


Director Search Committee

Chairperson, OPEN

“Director Search Committee” shall be appointed at least one hundred twenty (120) days prior to the annual meeting of the St. Augustine Shores Corporation. It shall present the results of its search to the Secretary no later than seventy five (75) days prior to the call of the annual meeting.

 


Election Committee

Chairperson, OPEN

An Election Committee Shall be appointed at least Sixty (60) days prior to the annual meeting of the St. Augustine Shores Service Corporation to determine through the Secretary the membership eligible to vote at the annual meeting to oversee the distribution and collection of all proxies and ballots and to establish their validity. The Committee shall also count the ballots and report the results to the Secretary. The number of candidates, equivalent to the number of vacancies which receive the largest pluralities shall be elected. In the event of a tie for the smallest electing plurality, the chairperson of the elections commit shall decide the election by a coin toss.

 


Building and Grounds Committee

Chairperson, Dirk Schroeder 

This committee is charged with evaluating the condition of the Riverview Club and surrounding facilities and all St Augustine Shores Service Corporation owned property. A basic charge for the committee will be to evaluate ideas to provide a positive cash flow from buildings usage. This committee is charged with bringing to to Board of Directors their suggestions on how to improve the “Quality of Life in the Shores.” All projects may be reviewed and accepted or rejected by the Board of Directors. Approved projects will then be assigned to be carried out by the General Manager, the Board of Directors, and/or the Beautification Volunteer Committee as designated by the Board.

 


Activities Club Committee

Chairpersons, Open

This committee is charged with the evaluation of current activities within the Shores available to all residents. This committee is charged with bringing to the Board of Directors their suggestions on how to improve the “quality of life in The Shores”.  All projects will be reviewed and accepted or rejected by the Board of Directors.  Approved projects will then be managed by the General Manager, The Board of Directors, and/or the Beautification Volunteer Committee as designated appropriate by the Board.

 


Wildflower Committee

Chairperson, Cindy Taylor 

The committee is responsible for the care and maintenance for the designated “Wildflower” area.  This committee is charged with bringing to the Board of Directors their suggestions on how to improve the “beauty and significance to the community”, and all projects will be accepted or rejected by the Board of Directors.  Approved projects will then be managed and the responsibility of the General Manager.

 


RV and Boat Storage Committee

Chairperson: Mike Shannon 

The Committee will site visit the RV and Boat Storage Facility and evaluate ways to enhance the security of the facility, the look and feel of the grounds, determine how to maximize the income to the Shores while serving as a benefit to its residents. The Committee may look for ways to expand the facility, if possible. All projects may be reviewed and accepted or rejected by the Board of Directors. Approved projects will then be assigned to be carried out by the General Manager, the Board of Directors and/or the Beautification Volunteer Committee as designated appropriate by the Board.

 


Communications Committee

Chairpersons, Judy Manning and Andrea Lerebours 

The Committee is charged with determining better ways  of communicating the happenings, activities and events within St. Augustine Shores (specifically the business of the Service Corp, its Board and its Committees) to as many residents as possible. This includes formulating enhancements to the official website of St. Aug. Shores, the Shores Newsletters and any other means of communicating with the residents. Recommendations are provided for review and potential implementation at the discretion and direction of the Board.

 


Beautification Volunteers

Chairperson, TO BE ASSIGNED 

Members of this Committee will carry out St. Augustine Shores Community beautification projects that are approved by the Board. Funding for necessary materials and other needs for projects may need to be requested and approved of the Board. Volunteers may be asked to sign liability waivers to do physical work projects within the Community. Projects may flow from the Building and Grounds Committee or other Committees to the Board of Directors for their approval and the tasks and projects will be carried out by the Beautification Volunteers Committee.
